With the leaders of Division 1 not being in action, competition for the minor places has been hotting up and both Cougars and Eagles helped themselves to good wins.

With only one league defeat since the start of November, Lasers went into their home game against Cougars with plenty of confidence. The opening quarter saw 7 changes of lead with Cougars just ahead by 1. There was still only one point in it mid-way through the second but then the visitors put together a 16-6 run with James Fairs coming off the bench to hit 10 in 5 minutes. Lasers kept in the game in the third as Femi Ariyo hit 10 personal but they still trailed by 11 going into the final quarter. The gap was down to 5 with just 5 minutes on the clock but player-coach Joe Rudd stepped up for Cougars to hit 11 personal and settle the game.

Eagles and Bulldogs met with both sides looking for their first win in 2010. After a low-scoring first quarter the game livened up in the second with Sam Saggers hitting 11 for the Eagles and Billy Smith matching this for Bulldogs. Half time saw Eagles up by 8 and they soon extended this as Bulldogs could only manage 3 field goals in the next 7 minutes. With a cushion of 20 going into the final quarter, Eagles never looked back, with 5 players finishing in double figures and the bench contributing 31.

In Division 2 Jammers stay at the top thanks to a comfortable win at home to Cannons. The visitors only scored 3 times in the first quarter, by which time Jammers were into a double-digit lead. By half time the gap had widened to more than 20 thanks to 16 from Bradley Potter and when Cannons only managed 4 field goals in the third, Jammers extended their lead to more than 30 and that was game over.

Kings had a comfortable win against Tigers to keep up their challenge for silverware. Rob Randall hit 14 in the opening quarter to help Kings into a double-figure lead and with Tigers only managing 3 field goals in the second, Kings extended their lead to 20 by half time. Kings continued to control the game in the second half and although Randall hit a game-high 25, 9 of the squad got on the scorehseet to reflect a solid team performance.
